STATEMENT

SONIA GutIERREZ (HARVEY) She/Her

I am an installation and performance artist who creates unexpected introspection for individuals and communities. I explore my Hispanic heritage and Catholic cultural rituals through video, sound, and live performance. I invite participants to share my Mexican-American experience through iconic Latin symbols and images. By offering the audience my lens of interpretation they are able to gain new connections, perspectives, and insights into life as a Latina in Arkansas.
